A Collaborative Team is Best!

We are incredibly grateful for the team that we are constantly growing. A truly collaborative team is focused around the patient.

A collaborative team may include the patient, physician, dentist, orthodontist, oral surgeon, ENT, Allergist, Lactation Consultant, body worker, sleep physician, physical therapist, occupational therapist, and of course your speech language pathologist and myofunctional therapist.

Myofunctional therapy can very rarely be treated with myofunctional therapy alone. Further, for a patient to end up in the position where they are in need of myofunctional therapy, they have often been asking questions of many other professionals up until this point.

Treatment is not predictable but truly a balance of a collaborative approach. Sometimes a referral to another professional can be frustrating. Ultimately, a referral to another professional can be crucial for the best outcomes. There is just too much information for any one person to know about the entire body. A pediatrician, for example, has one of the most extensive jobs needing to know so much about so many things. However, sometimes one of the best things a professional can do is add to their collaborative team in order to get the best results for their patient.

Remember, that the patient should always be a primary participant in the collaborative team. Ask questions. Make sure you understand the why for your patient. Be thankful for a collaborative team for you and your loved ones.

Simply Communication is truly grateful for the team the we work with both in the office and outside of the office. Be sure to check out our website for a list of some of the professionals we were with in our professional network.
