Back to School and Your Services

Updated: Apr 25, 2019

With the school year starting, everybody is getting into new schedules and new routines. For children who have extra services during the school day, these are just getting started this week and next week. At this point, it is a great time for parents to review their children’s IEP and make sure that the goals still seem appropriate for your child. Over the summer, a lot can happen! You might feel that your child has progressed, or regressed. This may be a time to start entertaining building in private practice therapy to help your child close the gap.

If you have been receiving services all summer, make sure you have your summer therapist contact your school therapist to update on your child’s progress! No matter what you do, remember that you have a team working for your child and you are the person in charge of that team! Don’t forget to advocate for your child 100% of the way. If you have questions or need assistance, give us a call!
